NRS Series 5 Prelim 2

We had a another excellent round of Nashville Rising Star Series 5! We had a total of 42 songwriters registered and 21 were selected by random drawing who shared their songs in front of music industry pros and a great crowd at Wild Wing Cafe and watching online. Over 2500 people watched the live stream and voted for their favorite songwriter! We heard quite a few strong songs and awesome performances!

Roy and Will will come back and join 12 other writers for the semi-final round to be held Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Wild Wing Cafe. The finals will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2016 at Wild Wing Cafe.

Judges
JOHN LAWRY- John is a musician, composer, producer, and songwriter. He is most remembered for being the keyboardist of Christian rock band Petra during their most prolific years. As a member of Petra, John is a recipient of four GRAMMY Awards and multiple Dove Awards. In 2014 was awarded the SESAC LIFETIME LEGACY Award.

JIM FRAZIER- Jim is a producer / musician having worked in Nashville since 1989. Jim has produced artists and projects for labels such as Curb, Word Entertainment, and Sony, as well as many of the largest publishing companies, Sony/Tree, BMG, and EMI. Having worked in the studio with artists such as Brad Paisley, SheDaisy, Jim Brickman, Joy Williams (Civil Wars), Phil Keaggy, 4 Him, Jennifer Paige, and many others.

Jim produces music for television, including Undercover Boss, Sons Of Guns, Guys Grocery Games, America’s Top Model and Building Wild, to name a few. He has composed music for films as well.
