We had another excellent round at Prelim #4. 20 songwriters came out to share their songs. Everyone had the opportunity to perform! We heard quite a few good songs this round!

Joe and Greg will come back and join 18 other writers for the semi-final round to be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Wild Wing Cafe. The finals will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Wild Wing Cafe.

Judges

Mark Cawley- is a hit songwriter and musician who coaches other writers and artists to reach their creative and professional goals. Mark has had a long list of cuts with legendary artists ranging from Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Chaka Khan and Diana Ross to Wynonna Judd, Kathy Mattea, Russ Taff, Paul Carrack, The Spice Girls and many more.

To date his songs have been on more than 16 million records. Mark’s resume includes hits on the Pop, Country, R&B, Jazz, and Rock charts and several publishing deals with the likes of Virgin, Windswept Pacific, and Steelworks/Universal. Mark calls on his decades of experience in the publishing world, as an artist on major labels, co-writer with everyone from Eliot Kennedy and Burt Bacharach, composing, and recording to mentor clients around the globe with iDoCoach.

He is also a judge for the UK Songwriting Contest, a contributing author to USA Songwriting, Songwriter Magazine, sponsor for the ASA, judge for Belmont University’s Commercial Music program and West Coast Songwriter events, a popular blogger and, from time to time, conducts his own workshops including ASCAP, BMI and Sweetwater Sound.

David Browning- Producer/Keyboardist David Browning has been an active force in the professional music scene for nearly two decades. Starting his professional career as a touring keyboardist, David traveled with many of Christian music’s top artists, including Avalon, Natalie Grant, Greg Long, Michael English, Billy Graham Ministries, Tony Vincent, Al Denson, Joel Osteen Ministries, Lisa Bevill and Beyond The Blue.

Progressing further as a songwriter and producer, David worked with many renowned artists, including Katy Perry, Amy Grant, Ce Ce Winans, Jump 5 and Japanese sensation JP Lam, as well as broadcast production work for NFLʼs Monday Night Football and Pro Bowl, ESPN and others.

David co-produced the #1 Inspirational hit song “Adore You” for Andy Chrisman (4Him), as well as several radio hits by Canadian artist Janelle, which landed both Juno and Western Canadian Music Award nominations for Album of the Year. David has continued to be a part of many international radio hits throughout the world for artists such as Canadian boy-band Hollywood Heroes, Korean pop artist Gummy, and dance up-and-comer Gabriela.
